Symbol Glossary

To better understand our installation recommendations, consult our glossary of symbols and pictograms, available for download here.

Double-cut hanging

1- Paste the wall, then apply the first length. Apply the second length, overlapping the first by about 4 cm.

2- Using a ruler and a new cutter blade, cut along the overlap between the two lengths from top to bottom without raising the blade.

3- Lift the second length slightly. Remove the strip from the first length. Reapply the length to the wall.

Tinting the edge of very-dark-coloured paper

1- Only remove the film from the two ends of the roll, keeping it rolled tight.

2- There are two possible techniques:

a) Spray paint (recommanded option)

Use a spray paint in the same shade as the paper. Spray a light mist of paint onto each end, without applying too much.

b) Paint

Use a paint in the same shade as the paper. Dilute it slightly, then soak a cloth in the paint, removing any excess. Dab each end with the cloth.

3- Leave to dry before hanging..

Soaking vinyl on paper backing

1- Moisten the back of the paper thoroughly with a sponge soaked in clean water.

2- Fold the ends towards the centre.

3- Place the edges on top of each other to stop the water from evaporating and allow the paper to slacken. Leave to soak for 8-10 minutes.

Pasting the back of the paper (with metylan expert)

1- Apply the adhesive to the back of the paper using a paste brush.

2- Fold the ends towards the centre.

3- Place the edges on top of each other to stop the water in the adhesive from evaporating and allow the paper to slacken. Leave to soak for 8-10 minutes.

Removing adhesive residue

1- Dab the spot with a damp sponge.

2- Soak up the adhesive with a cloth or paper towel. Do not rub, as this will damage the covering.

3- Repeat as necessary until all adhesive has been completely removed

Covering an external corner (wall covering)

1- Use a brush to apply Ovalit F or Pattex PVC WALL ADHESIVE (PVC Tiles and Panelling) to a 10 cm section on either side of the corner (minimum tack time of 10 minutes on a normally absorbent surface and 20 minutes on a non-absorbent surface).

2- Paste the rest of the walls with the adhesive recommended for the porosity of the wall.

3- Place the covering on the wall and apply strong pressure to the corner while folding it over the other wall.

4- Continue covering your wall.

Covering an external corner (wallpaper)

1- For thick wallpapers, use a brush to apply an adhesive, such as Ovalit Ultra (Henkel) or equivalent, to a 10 cm section on either side of the corner.

2- Paste the rest of the walls with the adhesive recommended for the porosity of the wall.

3- Hang the paper on the wall and apply strong pressure to the corner while folding it over the other wall.

4- Continue covering your wall.

Tinting the wall edges

For a better finish, apply a primer in the same colour as the covering (matt acrylic paint diluted by 30%) around the edges of the wall and between the lengths.

Ovalit s - application using a fine plaster roller

1- A fine plaster roller must be used to apply an adhesive such as Ovalit S (Henkel) or equivalent to the wall in a strip slightly wider than one length, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. This will give a plaster effect that will improve the adhesion of the covering when hanging (adhesive load of 450 to 550 g/mÇ).

2- Position the dry length and repeat for the following lengths

Ovalit s - application using a notched b2 trowel (for very thick coverings)

1- Use a notched B2 trowel (TKB standard) to apply an adhesive such as Ovalit S (Henkel) or equivalent to the wall in a strip slightly wider than one length, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. This will create grooves that will improve the adhesion of the covering when hanging.

2- Position the dry length and repeat for the following lengths.

Installing profiles

1- Hanging the covering. Apply a line of neoprene glue from a tube evenly over the covering where the profile is to be fitted.

2- Leave the glue to dry for 8/10 minutes. Saw the profile to the required height and sand the edges after cutting.

3- Apply the profile to the line of glue from top to bottom or from left to right, slowly removing the protective tape from the adhesive strip, and apply pressure to the profile.

4- Then remove the protective film from the surface of the profile.

Glue down installation - Pattex Pro 200 / 600

1- Using an extrusion gun, apply a line of an adhesive such as PATTEX PRO 200 or PATTEX PRO 600 (Henkel) to the back of the panel and around the edges, a slight distance away from the edge itself to avoid glue spillage during installation.

2- Position and interlock the panels on the wall, then press firmly for 10 seconds.

Full installation - Pattex Pro 200 / 600

1- Apply an adhesive such as Ovalit S (Henkel) to the wall, working from the bottom up, or to the back of the panel using a notched B3 trowel (TKB standard).

2- Position and interlock the panels on the wall, then press firmly for 10 seconds.
